Libya's NTC chief urges people to unite for reconciliation

Tripoli, Apr 29 (Xinhua-ANI): Libya's ruling National Transitional Council (NTC) chief Mustafa Abdul Jalil on Sunday called on all Libyans to united as one with the NTC and the transitional government to bridge the gap for national reconciliation.

Jalil told the Voice of Tripoli radio that "the institutions of civil society, the rebels and the whole society must be together with the revolution and with the (NTC) and the transitional government to pass this difficult period."

Jalil stressed that NTC and the government are on the same boat, sharing the goals of enhancing security and achieving the stage of national elections.

Meanwhile, on the issue of former rebel fighters, Jalil said " we strove to accommodate many of the rebels in the military and security institutions and in civil institutions, in order to collect weapons from the street." (Xinhua-ANI)
