Coach John Wright admits he's losing patience with star bat Jesse Ryder

Auckland, Fri, 02 Mar 2012 ANI

Auckland (New Zealand), Mar. 2 (ANI): Black Caps coach John Wright has admitted that he is losing patience with star batsman Jesse Ryder over his repeated indiscretions.

Ryder and fast bowler Doug Bracewell have been suspended from Saturday's final one-day international against South Africa in Auckland after their latest indiscretion-a verbal altercation with patrons at a Napier bar after New Zealand lost the series there on Wednesday night.

Wright clearly isn't amused to have to deal with another Ryder run-in, though won't give up on him.

But he made it clear there are standards to be maintained.

"He's a talented cricketer and it's up to him and certainly everyone has the opportunity to play if they perform and are fit and abide by some of the rules that go with being in the team," stuff.co.nz quoted Wright, as saying when asked about Ryder's future.

"The door is open for any player, but there are standards you need to reach."

Wright admitted Ryder was testing his patience: "It's fair to say that."

Wright said that Ryder's indiscretion were a distraction and a disappointment. (ANI)
