Imran says PTI will shoot down US drones if voted into power

Islamabad, Sat, 11 Feb 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Feb 11 (ANI): Pakistani cricketer-tuned-politician Imran Khan has said that if his Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party comes to power, it would shoot down US drones that target Pakistan.

At a rally in Swabi, Imran said the PTI will not let the US attack Pakistan via drone strikes and will shoot their drones down.

"We will help them [US] to get out of Afghanistan but we will not become a part of their war," The Express Tribune quoted Khan, as saying.

He further if the PTI was given a chance, it will free Pakistanis from the slavery of the US.

"We won't beg, we won't take loans and will generate our own funds," he added.

Making predictions about the success of his party, Imran said even if the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) unite, the PTI will "bowl them all out on the first ball."

"The nation has decided it wants a change and no political party can defeat PTI's tsunami," Imran insisted. (ANI)
