Amjad Ali Khan is a distinguished player in Indian classical music world. He is one of the most noted musicians having a vast knowledge in playing sarod and its varied performance. He developed a unique style of playing highly complex phrases (ekhara taans) with the Sarod in which compositions are based on vocal music. He made his debut in the sarod recital at a mere age of six. Amjad Khan was born in 1945 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh in the royal family of Hafiz Khan with a rich heritage of music and art for more than three generations.
