Aussie cricketers' relax with their WAG's

Cape Town (South Africa), Mar.13 (ANI): Australia's triumphant cricketers are relaxing with their WAG's after inflicting a two-nil series loss on their South African rivals.

Ricky Ponting's Australians have been given a four-day break before resuming training on Monday for the third Test in Cape Town on March 19.

Their partners have been encouraged to visit the players this week and several have already arrived, including Ricky Ponting's wife Rianna and their baby daughter Emmy and Michael Clarke's fiancée Lara Bingle, the Herald Sun reports.The mood is a little different in the South African camp, where they have had three captains already this week.

Skipper Graeme Smith failed to bat in South Africa's second innings on Tuesday in the Durban Test because of a fractured finger and regular vice-captain Ashwell Prince was recalled to the side and named captain on Tuesday for the third Test.

However a day later Cricket South Africa announced that Prince would be relieved of the captaincy for the Cape Town Test to allow him to concentrate on his new role as opening batsman, having played most of his previous 47 Tests as a No.5.

South African newspapers say Prince has this week knocked back the captaincy after being disappointed at not winning selection for the Johannesburg and Durban Tests.

Prince became South Africa's first black captain in 2006 when he led the side in the absence of injured skipper Smith.

However Prince missed South Africa's 2-1 series win in Australia earlier this summer with a thumb injury and was unable to win a recall for the Johannesburg and Durban matches, with J P Duminy in good form at No.5.

The Proteas have dropped Neil McKenzie and named Prince and the uncapped Imraan Khan to open the batting in Cape Town.

South Africa's leading run scorer Jacques Kallis, who captained the side for one Test against Australia in Johannesburg three years ago, will be the skipper in Cape Town. (ANI)
