Doctor Who 'King of Daleks' to go under the hammer

London, Thu, 12 Mar 2009 ANI

London, Mar 12 (ANI): A rare Dalek from Doctor Who, found among a company's assets after it was force under by the recession, is set to go under the hammer later this month.

The treasured item is expected to fetch up to 18,000 pounds.

The item bought by communications agency Indeprod for 36,000 pounds in 2005, is said to be the one of the firm's most expensive assets.

The bidding of the online auction through Bidspotter.com is expected to start at 10,000 pounds.

"We've never sold a Dalek before - it's definitely one of the most unique items we've dealt with in recent years," the Telegraph quoted Kevin McAndrew, from valuers Philip Davies and Sons, as saying.

"It will be the star item of all the company's assets when it goes up for sale.

"It's a real bargain, considering how much the company originally paid for it, and a really good investment for whoever wins it at the auction," he added.

The Dalek, also known as the Dalek Supreme, starred alongside popular Dr Who actor Tom Baker in the 1970s. (ANI)
