Six-year-old Brit boy climbs five Everests!

London, Tue, 10 Mar 2009 ANI

London, Mar 10 (ANI): British boy Tom Fryers has scaled the equivalent of five Mount Everests at just the age of six, conquering his first peak at the age of 3 and a half.

Fryers, who nearly died at birth from breathing problems, has trekked up 214 of the Lake District's highest peaks, and even raised 2,500 pounds for the hospital that saved his life.

The little boy completed the 480-mile trek in 62 days, which totals to an average of four peaks a day, and in one gruelling 15-mile session he conquered the two highest peaks in England, 3,162ft Scafell and 3,209ft Scafell Pike.

"The best part is going down - but it's also good being at the top," the Sun quoted him as saying.

The six-year-old, who was accompanied by his dad Paul, 41, of Oxspring, South Yorks, gave the cheque to a special-care baby unit in Sheffield.

"It's a miracle Tom survived. Now he couldn't be more alive," Paul said about his son. (ANI)
