Khan Khel's brother vows to continue work as a journalist
Peshawar, Feb.21 (ANI): Slain Geo TV journalist Musa Khan Khel's brother, Isa Khan Khel, who is also a journalist, has vowed to continue in the profession.
Khel, who reports for an English daily from Mingora, said he will continue to fight for the people of Swat and work for the establishment of peace in the region which was his brother's mission.
"I will not leave Swat and its people in this hour of trial. I will be the last newsman to quit the valley. He (Musa) trained me as a reporter. I will continue to work as a journalist to fulfill his mission of restoring peace," The News quoted Khel, as saying.
He said he was aware of the threat to his life, but will not succumb under militant pressure and continue his job.
"I know there are threats and dangers to those working as reporters in this troubled valley. I could also be eliminated but I will not abandon my profession. The time and place of one's death has already been fixed (by God), so I am not afraid of it," Khel said.
Musa Khan Khel was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Wednesday in the Matta area of Swat Valley in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP).He was reporting on the contentious peace agreement between the Taliban and the Pakistani government. (ANI)
