London, July 15 (ANI): The doctor who delivered Angelina Jolie's twins admits that he was 'nervous' before the birth.

Talking to Europe 1 radio, Dr Michel Sussmann replied in the affirmative when asked whether he felt added pressure delivering the famous couple's son and daughter.

"It's true that there was pressure due to the couple's fame," the BBC quoted him, as saying.

Dr Sussman described Pitt, who was at Jolie's side for the birth, as "perfectly calm" during the operation.

He added that the 44-year-old actor kept repeating the words "I'm the happiest father ever."

Jokingly referring to Pitt as "my assistant", Dr Sussmann said: "He was perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional."

Of Jolie, he said: "She is a patient who was totally obedient, very calm, very kind."

Oscar-winning Jolie gave birth to son Knox Leon and daughter Vivienne Marcheline by Caesarean section in France on Saturday. (ANI)
