New Delhi, July 11 (ANI): Handwritten lyrics by John Lennon for the song 'Give Peace A Chance' have raked in a whopping 350,000 pounds after going under the hammer at Christie's in London.

The note was put on sale by write Gail Renard, to whom it was given by Lennon himself during the famous Bed-In demonstration in a hotel room in Montreal, Canada in 1969, reports China Daily.

Renard was only 16-year-old at the time.

Lennon penned and recorded the song in the hotel room with about 50 guests, including singer Petula Clark and beat poet Allen Ginsberg.

Also auctioned was the drum featured on The Beatles' album 'Sgt Pepper', which sold for a whopping 541,250 pounds.

The hand-painted bass drum skin was the same on that was used for the cover of The Beatles' classic Sergeant Pepper album in 1967.

It was bought by a anonymous bidder for a price three times the estimate. (ANI)
