Abu Dhabi, Jan 14 (IANS) Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh will tee off with the reigning Masters champion Trevor Immelman of South Africa in the season opening Abu Dhabi Open here Thursday.
Asian Tour No.1 Jeev, who won four times last year and rose to 35th in the world, leads the Indian contingent of four golfers as the first leg of the Middle-East swing gets underway at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
Jeev is drawn with Immelman and Soren Kjeldsen, while S.S.P. Chowrasia, who won the Indian Masters last year, is paired with Rafael Bello Cabrera and Pablo Martin.
Jyoti Randhawa's threesome includes amateur prodigy Danny Lee and Bradley Dredge, while Shiv Kapur got a spot on the event following the withdrawal of Ian Poulter earlier in the week. Kapur plays with Mark Foster and Ross McGowan.
Defending champion Martin Kaymer, who led from the first day last year, is back in the field with special memories of the four-shot victory over Henrik Stenson and Lee Westwood.
Kaymer also won the BMW International in his homeland last June and eventually finished eighth in The European Tour Order of Merit.
Another player to watch will be Ryder Cup star Paul Casey, who returns to Abu Dhabi having won the Falcon Trophy himself in 2007.
