London, July 8 (ANI): When it comes to holidaying, Turkey appeals to Brits the most, says a new survey.
For the first time in 40 years, Turkey has taken the first place as Britons' No.1 holiday spot, pushing Spain to second place.
Majorca, the largest island of Spain, and Crete - one of the thirteen peripheries of Greece - grabbed the third and the fourth place in the list.
According to travel experts, families in Britain want cheaper breaks outside Europe.
Algarve, one of the regions of Portugal, Cyprus, Tenerife and Costa Blanca nabbed fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth places in the list, respectively.
Sharm El Sheikh and Rhodes rounded off the list.
Statistics say that nearly a third more Brits are heading to Turkey this summer compared with last year, reports the Mirror.
And bookings to Majorca, the previous top choice, are down 13 per cent as the soaring euro hits.
Co-op Travel looked at 200,000 package holidays and flights to 30 resorts.
