'Lazy' Camilla dubbed 'Duchess Of Dolittle' by royal staff

London, Dec 22 (ANI): Owing to her laziness to make public appearances, the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, has been dubbed as the "Duchess of Dolittle" by Palace staff.

The lady's appointment chart boasts a measly 137 engagements last year, almost dozens less than the previous year.

And Camilla might turn out to be the Royal Family's biggest ever loafer, attending least number of public functions out of all the Royals, for the third time since she married into the family.

"It's a real cause for concern. Charles is sensitive to any criticism of his wife and especially sensitive to claims she is lazy but the figures are there," the Daily Star quoted one Palace courtier as saying.

According to official Palace Court and Social records, Camilla carried out 137 domestic engagements and helped Charles on four foreign visits, while she pulled out of one Middle East tour because aides said she found it "too hot".

Last year, the Queen carried out 425 engagements and Prince Charles 498, thus making the Princess Royal as the hardest working royal with 613 official jobs and appointments.

However, many of Camilla's engagements were limited to attending family parties, joint visits with Charles, or receiving guests. In fact, one listed job was simply getting on a plane on the way to a trip overseas.

"The simple fact is that she hates being on public view and doesn't want to do it. She sees her duty as a wife, not as a public figure," said a family friend.

Mark Bolland, Charles' former deputy private secretary, described Camilla as the "laziest woman in Britain". (ANI)
