Here, women of the high-income group are spending lavishly on their looks, and, most concentrate on their hair.

This is just a reflection of one of the smaller towns of India, as the average spending on one's looks is rising from eight per cent this year. The hair care market in India is estimated at 200 million dollars. With a growth of 3.8 per cent over the previous year, there is a burgeoning demand for beauty products.

"A lot of difference can be seen in last ten years. Previously, people were only interested in normal haircuts like blunt, wedge, straight, and U-cut. But now there are more advance cuts and advance coloring. Text rising has come into light these days. A lot of text rising can be seen on Indian hairs. Slithering and different cutting like point cutting are in fashion today," said Sonal, owner, beauty parlor.
