Thirteen injured in grenade attack by militants in Bhaderwah
Jammu, July 2 (ANI): Curfew was imposed in Bhaderwah City of Jammu after 27 people were injured in group clashes and 13 people were injured in a grenade attack by militants on a rally today.
Unidentified militants hurled a grenade on 400 Bharatiya Janata Party activists and temple committee members returning to Laxmi Narain mandir in Bhaderwah City after a rally, sources said.
They said 13 people including a CRPF policeman were injured. Four of them who were in critical condition, were admitted to a local hospital.
Over 70 people have been arrested across the region.
The Jammu-Srinagar, Jammu-Poonch and Jammu- Pathankot highways were blocked by demonstrators.
Shiv Sena activists fought pitched battles with police at various places demanding removal of Governor N. N. Vohra.
Police used batons and tear gas to push back the protesters and fired in the air at Muthi and Shastri Nagar in the city. (ANI)
