London, Nov 30 (ANI): A global paedophile network's founding member, who had more than 200,000 computer images and thousands of videos of children being sexually abused, has been sent to jail indefinitely.
Christopher Stubbings, of Kings Bromley, Staffordshire, was arrested following a two-year investigation involving the FBI and detectives in Australia.
At Stafford Crown Court, the 55-year-old admitted eight offences, including indecent assaults on a child under 16, commissioning child abuse videos, distributing child abuse images and possessing child abuse images.
While being interviewed by Staffordshire police, Stubbings told them: "You know what men are like. Some choose to collect stamps. I choose to collect images of children."
Justice Macur ordered that he should serve an indeterminate jail term for public protection, with a minimum tariff of 12-and-a-half years.
Justice Macur said that Stubbings had "an inability to show remorse, contrition or empathy".
"(The images) were deplorable and depraved - these children were abused, all of them debased, all of them humiliated," the Independent quoted her, as saying. (ANI)
