Milan, Nov 14 (DPA) A ruthless and solid Juventus hammered Genoa 4-1 to temporarily go top in the Italian Serie A ahead of the weekend games.
Juventus after Thursday's win moved onto 24 points, drawing level with champions Inter Milan, who play at Palermo, Saturday.
Czech defender Zdenek Grygera opened the scoring before Genoa came close on two occasions, but Juve doubled up before the break through a header from Brazilian Amauri.
Vincenzo Iaquinta made it 3-0 right after the break, and Diego Milito pulled one back from the spot to improve his top scorer status to 10 goals from 12 games before his team-mate Sokratis Papastathoupolos scored an own goal.
The game was brought forward because Italy is playing an international rugby friendly against Argentina Saturday in the Stadio Olimpico.
