PGTI members Jeev Milkha Singh and Digvijay Singh finished best amongst compatriots to be placed at tied 23rd at the US$ 2.3 million BMW Asian Open. But both of them faltered in the final round and disappointed golf lovers back home as everyone was expecting a top-10 finish from them after they were smartly placed at tied fifth and tied ninth position respectively following their penultimate round performance.

Digvijay slipped from overnight tied fifth due to his fourth round score of 77, Jeev plummeted from overnight tied ninth after carding 76 in the final round on Sunday. The Indian duo totalled two over 290 for the tournament.

Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke (71, 69, 67, 73) emerged triumphant with a tournament total of eight under 280. Clarke carded a final round of one-over-par 73 under some really testing conditions to clinch his 11th career victory on the European Tour and his first since the 2005 Taiheiyo Masters in Japan.

Digvijay Singh (74, 72, 67, 77) started his final round on a bright note when he birdied the first hole. He was looking good for a top 10 after his third round 67 but he toppled in the deciding round as he dropped bogeys on the second, fourth, 14th, 15th, 16th and 18th to close the tournament with a 77.

Jeev Milkha Singh (68, 76, 70, 76) also started round four with a birdie on the first. However, a bogey on the third and double bogeys on the fourth and sixth holes dashed his hopes of a good finish. Jeev could only manage a birdie on the 15th on the back nine. He also bogeyed the 14th.

Shiv Kapur (71, 75, 74, 74) ended the tournament in tied 46th with a total of six over 294 while Indian Masters winner SSP Chowrasia (72, 73, 72, 79) totalled an eight over 296 to finish at tied 55th in the tournament.
