Germany pledges more aid to Pakistan

Islamabad, Oct 28 (Xinhua) Germany's Foreign Minister Frank Walter said here Tuesday that his country will increase its development assistance to Pakistan to deal with the financial crisis.

 

Walter, on a one-day visit to Islamabad, urged the international community to stand by Pakistan at the difficult time to overcome the challenges posed by economic crisis and terrorism.

 

 

Addressing a joint press conference, co-chaired by Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Walter said his country wants to strengthen bilateral ties with Pakistan.

 

 

The German foreign minister lauded Pakistan's role in the fight against terrorism.

 

 

Qureshi said both sides have agreed to bolster cooperation in all fields.
