India’s ace tennis players Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi set up a quarter-final date against each other after winning their respective second round doubles matches in the $ 3,770,000 Sony Ericsson Open, ATP Masters Series event being played at the Crandon Park in Miami.
Fourth Seeded Indo-Bahamas pair of Bhupathi and Mark Knowles rallied to earn a hard fought three set 2-6, 6-2, 10-5 victory over their opponents Russian Igor Andreev and Xavier Malisse in the second round of the hardcourt event.
While eighth seeded pair of Paes and his Australian partner Paul Hanley entered the last eight stage after defeating German-Dutch combine of Kas Christopher and Rogier Wassen 6-4 4-6 10-7 in a keenly contested second round match.
