London, Oct 16 (DPA) Google.co.uk got a royal makeover for the day to mark a visit to its British headquarters by Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip Thursday.
The couple, both in their 80s, erupted into fits of giggles when shown a clip of a baby with an infectious laugh from the company's YouTube video site, at its headquarters in London.
Google's British homepage logo was given a makeover for the occasion, featuring a specially-commissioned 'Google doodle' of the Queen's profile and a crown sitting on top of the letter 'E'.
The royal couple, like 63 million viewers before them, burst into laughter when shown footage of a baby sitting in a high chair being made to laugh by an unseen person making a 'boo' noise.
Last Christmas, the queen launched a dedicated royal channel on YouTube which now contains 54 royal videos and has been visited by 1.6 million people.
Nikesh Arora, president of Google Europe, Middle East and Africa, said she was impressed by the monarch's interest and knowledge of the internet.
'She (the queen) did seem very very interested in everything going on. She has used YouTube and has her own Royal Channel and understands what our products are about,' said Arora, who hails from India.
