Mathura, Jan 3 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharti has said that she expects her party to do well in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
"No matter whoever fights the state assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, I see it as myself fighting the elections. I am spearheading 'Pradesh Bachao Bhajpa Lao (Save the state, bring Bharatiya Janata party to power)' campaign and I am confident that our party would do well," Bharti told the media here.
Uttar Pradesh is politically important, as it sends a large number of lawmakers to the Parliament in New Delhi.
Voting in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases starting February 4 and finishing on February 28.
Four other states, including Punjab, will hold elections between January 28 and March 03.
The results of the election would be declared on March 4. (ANI)
