Mayawati joins opposition lobby with conditions

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Supremo Mayawati today joined the opposition lobby of Congress party prior to all party meeting on Janlokpal Bill.

In a press conference today Mayawati said, 'BSP opposes present form of Lokpal bill approved by Standing Committee and wants to bring Prime Minister (PM), Group C and D employees and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) under the ambit of Lokpal Bill.'

Her announcement came a day before of all party meets to discussion about the state form of Janlokpal bill to be implemented into states.

However, Mayawati's support to Anna's Janlokpal bill has come with some conditions like peoples belonging to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward class should be included in Lokpal team.

Moreover, she also said her party will support the state version of lokpal bill only when her party's suggestion will be taken into consideration.

Mayawati also stated that the drafted bill should be very clear and common people must easily assess the contents of bill.

She stressed on this fact that the draft of the bill should be prepared after consulting to all parties.

'Lokpal bill should be drafted by keeping in mind this fact that Babasaheb Ambedkar had framed the Constitution and its federal structure should not be distrubed', she added.
