Bali (Indonesia), Nov.19 (ANI): At the gala dinner held here last night, ASEAN leaders donned colourful Indonesian shirts and traditional attire.U.S. President Barack Obama wore a colourful green shirt which a pattern of black and red panel running horizontally.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was in a dressy red Balinese attire.A patterned red jacket with a black t under it. She also took a red stole on the jacket, which added to the femininity of the outfit. Earlier in the day she was dressed in a suit with a red jacket.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wore a rust coloured Balinese shirt with orange panels in front. His wife Gursharan Kaur, however, wore a yellow silk saree, choosing, as always, not to change her usual attire.
The guests were treated to a traditional Balinese meal and a cultural programme.
Atlanta fashionistas and Hawaiian shirt lovers, you know how the Hawaiian touristy shirts with local motifs have made a comeback this year and are still on-trend.
However, President Barack Obama asked Asia and Pacific leaders not to wear the local traditional clothing - namely the colorful Hawaiian shirt - at the APEC Summit!
Having missed out on the opportunity to don the Hawaiian shirt - the attire of Obama's birthplace itself - Barack Obama is apparently relishing the chance to don the traditional Indonesian shirt while meeting with the Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the ASEAN Summit.
