London, Sept 28 (ANI): QPR captain Joey Barton has boasted he can paint as well as Dutch master painter Vincent van Gogh, whose works sell for up to 100million pounds, in his latest internet rant.
The footballer, 29, is also a big admirer of 19th Century German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, author of Man And Superman.
"Van Gogh was clearly off his barnet but, as Nietzsche says: 'You have to have chaos within to give birth to a shining star.' Having said that, I think I could have done some of van Gogh's paintings myself," the Daily Star quoted the footballer as tweeting.
Barton, who signed for the west London club from Newcastle United last month, has become an internet sensation since signing up for Twitter.
The oddball claim is the latest attempt by the Premier League boy to reinvent himself as an intellectual. (ANI)
