Kolkata, Aug 31 (ANI): Argentina soccer coach Alejandro Sabella today said that his side hopes to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup by winning the friendly match against Venezuela to be played at Kolkata's Salt lake Stadium on September 2.
Sabella said that it would be for the first time that the team would play their match under his guidance.
"I think it is very important to make a good game, to come up with good results. To start to win confidence between players and me because we just recently know one another. I would like to say yes, this is a beginning of our long trip and I hope we finish with the qualification for the world cup," he told mediapersons at a press conference here.
"We are looking forward to play the game, for us it is a good experience to come here in India. For me it is the first time, I think for our players also. And it is always very good to know different people, different cultures, and different climates. It is very good for our people, us the people, us the professionals," he added.
The two Latin American nations Argentina and Venezuela would lock horns in Salt lake Stadium of the city.
The soccer fans in Kolkata are all geared up for this encounter.
Sport lovers in the city have been eagerly waiting to see on the field their iconic Argentinean football player Lionel Andres Messi along with other favourites.
