The last week proved to be very fruitful for Indian golfers as four of them are now in the top five of the UBS Asian Tour Order of Merit.
PGTI member SSP Chowrasia's historical victory at the Emaar MGF inaugural Indian Masters has taken him to the top of the UBS Asian Tour Order of Merit. His earnings currently stand at $416,660.
Chowrasia's stellar performance also earned him a full card on the European and Asian Tours till 2010. The victory also helped him climb to seventh on the European Tour Order of Merit with total earnings of Euro 280,561.
Everything has been swinging Chowrasia’s way as he is now positioned at 161 in the Official World Golf Rankings. This is surely an icing on the cake as it is a big leap for the caddie turned golfer with an improvement of more than 200 places from his last ranking.
Fellow PGTI member and Chowrasia's compatriot Digvijay Singh is in the second place. Digvijay's tied fourth finish at the Delhi Golf Club last week took his total earnings to $115,500.
Gaurav Ghei's tied sixth finish at the Indian Masters has placed him at third position ($66,200) on the UBS Asian Tour Order of Merit. In addition, Ghei also became the 17th player and fourth Indian to surpass USD one million in career earnings on the Asian Tour.
Arjun Atwal's tied 15th in Delhi has placed him fifth ($34,500). PGTI member Jyoti Randhawa is currently tied seventh in the money list while Shiv Kapur is tied 15th.
