London, July 2 (ANI): A French court has ruled against a lawsuit filed by President Islam Karimov's youngest child, saying that it is not slanderous to describe her as "a dictator's daughter".
Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva, 32, had launched the suit against Rue89, a French news website.
The court ruled that Rue89's article was both fair and true, and could not be taken as a personal attack.
"This judgement recognises that in France you can say that Lola Karimova is a 'daughter of a dictator'," the Telegraph quoted Rue89 journalist Augustin Scalbert as saying.
"It's very positive for Rue89 and journalism, and very, very negative for Uzbekistan," he stated. (ANI)
