Antigua (West Indies), June 14 (ANI): The West Indies got a consolation win on Monday in the fourth one-day international against India. Replying to the hosts score of 249 for the loss of eight wickets, India was bundled out for 146 in 39 overs. The visitors lost the match by 103 runs.
For the West Indians, leg spinner Anthony Martin took 4-35, while all-rounder Andre Russell took 3-16.
Earlier Lendl Simmons and Kieron Pollard hit half centuries for the hosts. Pollard scored 72, while Simmons scored 67.
Windies skipper Darren Sammy said he was happy with his side's response and believed they were getting better all the time.
"We did a lot more things better in this game. Throughout this series we have been improving, and in this game, we put a decent target of 250 on the board. The bowlers throughout the series have been collecting wickets early, and this time we were in a similar situation, and handled it differently. We had a different mindset, and the guys put the ball in the right areas and got the wickets we needed to complete a victory," the BBC quoted Sammy, as saying.
For the Indians, Rohit Sharma provided some resistance with a breezy 39 from 47 balls.
Captain Suresh Raina admitted his side had batted poorly.
He said: "Our shot selection was really wrong. We lost our shape, and we did not have any partnerships." (ANI)
