London, June 8 (ANI): Pippa Middleton has lost the coveted Rear of the Year Award to 'Countdown' host Carol Vorderman.
Middleton's figure had created quite a sensation following the Royal Wedding in April, and there had been much speculation as to whether she would be taking the award.
But Middleton, 27, was beaten to the prize by TV presenter Vorderman, 50, who was awarded for her well-honed rear.
"I am really surprised and flattered to get this award, particularly at this stage of my life," the Daily Express quoted Vorderman as saying.
"I always suspected there were a lot of people out there who were glad to see the back of me, so this has turned out to be very funny indeed," she said.
Organisers said the maths wizard attracted a "deluge" of votes after appearing in a succession of newspaper pictures wearing hip-hugging couture dresses.
Tony Edwards, organiser of the award highlighted that Middleton only had six weeks to gain votes following the royal wedding whereas Carol Vorderman had been collected votes throughout the year.
"There have been quite a lot of votes for her over the period after the royal wedding, but it was less than six weeks from then to now and a lot of other stars had a lot of time to really ratchet up the votes," he said.
"There is no doubt that Carol Vorderman has got many, many more votes.
"The bottom line, if you want to use that expression, is that if you Google Carol Vorderman's bottom and stand back, there is a mass of websites dedicated to her rear assets," he added. (ANI)
