It was an all PSPB final and the colleagues had easy outings against each other, since both the winners didn’t get any resistance or fightback from their opponents resulting both the finals ending in straight games.

In the women’s singles final, Saina overpowered her partner second-seed Trupti Murgunde 21-11, 21-10, in just 40 minutes while in men’s event, B Chetan Anand also had his easy to outscore his teammate fourth-seed Arvind Bhat 21-14, 22-20 in mere 35 minutes to pocket his third national tile.

However Bhat had got chances to stage a comeback into the match in the second game but he faltered at the crucial juncture and eventually conceded the game and the match 22-20 after he was on game-point at 20-17.

“I made slip-ups in the second game and thought the contest would go into the decider. I was trying to tire out Arvind to grab the advantage but it didn’t go that way,” said Chetan after winning the final.
