Kabul, May 23 (ANI): Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar has reportedly been killed in Pakistan, an Afghanistan private television channel has reported.
"Mullah Omar was killed on way from Quetta to North Waziristan, " Xinhua quoted TOLO television, as saying.
Although the report did not reveal how he was killed, but quoted an Afghan security official as confirming that he has been killed.
" It is correct that Mullah Omar has been killed," in Pakistan he added.
However, the Pakistan Taliban has rejected media reports that Omar has been killed.
If true, this could prove to be another major blow to the Taliban after the killing of Osama bin Laden by US Special Forces in his Abbottabad hideout in Pakistan on May 2. (ANI)
