London, April 20 (ANI): US President Barack Obama, while hosting a White House prayer breakfast on Tuesday, said that despite having a bulging inbox, the Easter story 'puts everything else in perspective'.
According to CNN, he also said that 'nothing beats scripture and the reminder of the eternal' just a day after marking the beginning of Passover with a Jewish Seder meal at the White House.
Obama, who has had to face critics wrongly claiming he is a Muslim, recounted Jesus's march to Calvary, the crucifixion and resurrection.
He hosted an Easter prayer breakfast for the second year running and the East Room was full of administration officials and 130 faith leaders from across the U.S.
"I wanted to host this breakfast for a simple reason. Because as busy as we are, as many tasks that pile up, during this season we are reminded that there is something about the resurrection of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, that puts everything else in perspective," the Daily Mail quoted the President as saying.
"His slow march up that hill, and the pain and the scorn and the shame of the cross.
"We're reminded that in that moment, he took on the sins of the world - past, present and future - and he extended to us that unfathomable gift of grace and salvation through his death and resurrection," he added. (ANI)
