Orenburg (Russia), Oct 2 (RIA Novosti) A teacher at the high school that partially collapsed in Russia's Urals killing five teenaged girls, has committed suicide, the school principal said Thursday.
Larisa Tsepovod said the woman teacher, who was the form mistress for the five girls in their final year at the Orenburg Region school, was shocked by the tragedy and hanged herself.
'She has been teaching at school for 15 years and the death of the girls affected her immensely,' the principal said.
Four other people, including three children, were injured in the building collapse, which happened Wednesday morning when a supporting wall gave way, bringing a three-storey section of the school down with it.
The regional authorities have declared Friday the day of mourning for those killed in the accident.
