London, April 7 (IANS) Two Indian-origin British tourists drowned in Spain while trying to rescue their children after they were swept away by a wave.
Barathe Ravikumar, 39, and Uma Ramalingam, 42, drowned near the Playa Paraiso resort off Tenerife island Sunday, the Daily Mail reported Monday.

A third woman and two children, aged 10 and 14, however, survived after being pulled out of the water by rescuers.
Onlookers dived into the water and were able to pull out all of them but two women could not be revived.
The 10-year-old child was subsequently taken to hospital with hypothermia, while a 14-year-old was treated at the scene for minor bruising, the report said.
Ramalingam was a consultant obstetrician who worked across several hospitals in Britain.
The report, however, did not mention the other two women's professions.
