London, April 6 (IANS) An award-winning Indian-origin businesswoman in Britain will appear in court Monday for assaulting her younger sister at a market place.

Sharon Kaur, 46, a high-profile entrepreneur, allegedly attacked her younger sister Kulvinder by grabbing her hair from behind, spitting at her and clawing at her face outside a shop in Ilford, East London, which left her battered and bruised, the Daily Mail reported Sunday.

As a crowd gathered, Kaur left the scene.

She will appear before magistrates Monday.

Kaur is the managing director of Sahara Homes care home empire.

She was named Businesswoman of the Year at the 2007 Asian Women of Achievement Awards, the report said.

Kaur is highly respected in the Sikh community for extensive charity work.

Prime Minister David Cameron praised for her community work in 2012.

Kaur confirmed that she will appear at Barkingside Magistrates' Court in East London, saying: "That's right, but I don't see what the big deal is."

Her sister was, however, unavailable for comment.

The report did not mention when the incident happened.
