Two Pakistani Sikhs kidnapped in Dera Ismail Khan

Peshawar, Feb. 14 (ANI): Two Pakistani Sikhs were abducted by armed persons in the country's Ismail Khan region.

Both the people, namely Sovinder Singh and Anand Singh, were on their way to their shop two days before. The police, however, recovered their car, but both are still missing.

Killings and kidnappings for ransom of Sikhs in Peshawar city are becoming common.

In February 2010, Three Sikh men were reportedly beheaded by the Taliban in the FATA area of Pakistan and their heads sent to a gurudwara in Peshawar.

The same year, two Sikhs who were kidnapped by the militant group were rescued by the military.

In 2013 January, two Sikhs, traders by profession, were kidnapped in Pakistan's lawless tribal belt and beheaded.

There are about 5000 Sikhs are living in the Peshawar and in the tribal area and most of them either cloth merchants or herbal medicine dealers. by Ravinder Singh Robin(ANI)
