New Delhi, May 17 (ANI): The Board of Control for Cricket in Inida's (BCCI) Working Committee is likely to meet on May 19, and may consider after deliberation, the imposition of a life ban on Test player S.Sreesanth and two Rajasthan Royal players-Ankit Chavan and Ajit Chandila-for their alleged role in spot-fixing three of Rajasthan Royals' Indian Premier League matches this season, television reports said Friday.

With all three players pleading guilty to the spot fixing charge and being sent to five days police custody on Friday, the BCCI top brass will be keeping an eye on how investigations by the Delhi Police pan out.

As per media reports, there is unanimity among the office-bearers that Sreesanth should not be allowed to play any cricket at any level from now on.

"As of now, Ravi Sawani, who is the head of BCCI's Anti-Corruption Unit, will carry out a parallel investigation and will submit a report to BCCI disciplinary committee headed by Arun Jaitley within 30 days," a senior BCCI office-bearer was quoted , as saying on Thursday.

There is a view that that the BCCI must walk the talk on ensuring zero tolerance on match or spot fixing.

As of now, the three players have been suspended by the BCCI, and if the charges are confirmed, it has promised the "strictest action" against them.

The Board said it would cooperate with the Delhi Police during the course of investigation. (ANI)
