London, May 6 (ANI): An injured British soldier is on his way to set a record by travelling the length and breadth of Britain on his mobility scooter.
Former corporal Mark Newton, 47, plans to be on the road for 475 days and cover more than 7,000 miles at speeds of up to 8mph.
According to the Mirror, Newton hopes to break the record for a mobility scooter trek, which currently stands at just over 1,000 miles.
Through the trek, he will raise cash for a number of armed forces charities.
The former tank driver from Swansea had to retire from the army in 1991 after he injured his leg while on duty with the UN in Cyprus, the report added. (ANI)
