Liverpool striker Suarez feels 'destroyed' following 10-match ban for 'biting'

London, Thu, 25 Apr 2013 ANI

London, Apr.25 (ANI): Controversial Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has reportedly told his friends that the 10-match ban imposed on him for biting Chelsea's footballer Branislav Ivanovic, has 'destroyed' his career and reputation.

Liverpool fears that Suarez may plan to quit the club as he is undergoing a low morale, following the decision taken by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), the Mirror reports.

However, Suarez's plan to join foreign clubs might not be successful, as the ban would apply in all nations under the UEFA.

According to the report, although Suarez has apologized to Ivanovic privately and admitted his mistake, the verdict of the independent three-man committee on Suarez will imply that the striker will not be able to play the last four games of this season and will miss all Liverpool matches until this October.

The report further said that the fact that Suarez himself wrote a letter to the FA before the hearing, suggesting he believed the offence of violent conduct with which he was charged should carry only a three game penalty, already hints at his reaction to the length of the sanction.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's interim manager Rafa Benitez has said that the act was wrong but the decision has been taken and the issue is now between Suarez and the FA disciplinary commission and he would not intend any involvement in it.

Liverpool's hierarchy is scared that the ban would have a disturbing effect on Suarez's state of mind, with the club's chief executive Ian Ayre saying that the club would provide Suarez with all the counselling help he needs and make renewed efforts to improve matters in the future. (ANI)
