Capetown, Apr.18 (ANI): South African Airways (SAA) has claimed victory over Gulf Air after being awarded for being 'the most on-time airline in the world' and 'best business class product' in the aviation industry.
SAA has been given the prestigious titles by a global flight and airport information services provider, FlightStats and FVW, a popular German trade magazine, News.24 reports.
According to the report, the national airline of South Africa has managed to deliver 92.26 percent by beating Gulf Air at 92.11 percent. The major international flights that were contenders for the awards had delivered an average of 78.76 percent on-time flights.
The spokesperson for SAA claimed that the airlines had managed to top the list on a mystery shopper project launched by FVW by scoring 94 points out of 100, thereby winning the title of 'best business class product', defeating three other well-known European airlines in the process.
Stating the fact that the awards have glorified South Africa's national carrier, the general manager of SAA operations Zuks Ramasia has said that it is a matter of pride for all South Africans to be associated with a well-esteemed airline, the report added. (ANI)
