Islamabad, Apr 11 (ANI): Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt has refused to deny his statement that Twenty20 skipper Mohammad Hafeez and coach Dav Whatmore have formed a nexus to sideline Test and one-day captain Misbah-ul Haq.
Although Misbah and Hafeez have publicly refuted Ijaz's allegations, the former chairman refused to budge from his statement and again repeated that there is a rift in the team, adding that whatever he said is nothing but the truth, The Nation reports.
Butt further said that both Hafeez and Whatmore support and back each other which has put a large amount of pressure on Misbah and has affected his performance.
According to Butt, he has no intentions to damage Pakistan cricket and is merely repeating the widespread antipathy after the team's disastrous South Africa tour.
The report further said that differences in the team, dressing room politics and intrigues and manipulations to force a captain to step down is nothing new in Pakistan cricket. (ANI)
