Khawaja will 'bounce back' from 'disciplinary breach' punishment, says manager

Sydney, Tue, 12 Mar 2013 ANI

Sydney, Mar 12 (ANI): The manager of Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja has said that the player will bounce back from the punishment and will return for the better to Australian cricket.

Khawaja, Shane Watson, James Pattinson and Mitchell Johnson were all dumped for Thursday's third Test after committing a minor disciplinary breach when they failed to complete an assignment by team management on how to make improvements in the team, News.com.au reports.

Hoping that Khawaja will learn from his mistakes, his manager Daniel Zammit said that cricket on a whole needed to follow the professionalism displayed Australia's National Rugby League (NRL) and the Australian Football League (AFL).

Stating that cricketers are still following age-old traditions, Zammit said that professional cricketers are taught from a very young age that they are special, adding that the attitude that the cricketers show would not be even dared by a rugby player.

Stating that cricket has considered itself separate to other sports, Zammit further said that the disappointing show of the Australian cricketers in India was predictable, adding that the disciplinary breach was the final straw for coach Mickey Arthur.

Zammit also said that entire cricket universe is soft in the belly compared to other sports. (ANI)
