AFL star says Oz quartet could have avoided sacking ignominy by doing homework

Sydney, Tue, 12 Mar 2013 ANI

Sydney, Mar 12 (ANI): Australian Football League (AFL) star Scott Pendlebury has claimed Shane Watson, James Pattinson, Usman Khawaja and Mitchell Johnson could have easily avoided getting sacked by doing their respective homework.

Coach Mickey Arthur dumped Watson, Johnson, Pattinson and Khawaja for the third Test match against India in Mohali, starting on Thursday, for failing to complete an assessment task, News.com.au reports.

Collingwood football club star Pendlebury said a simple solution to avoid the sackings would have been to do their assigned homework.

However, former Australian star Shane Warne said on Twitter the coach shouldn't have the power to suspend players, adding only captain should have the last say.

Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody thought the coach should have focussed on more on-field training. (ANI)
