Tunis, March 6 (IANS/AKI) More than 50 attacks on journalists took place in Tunisia in February, almost twice the number reported in the previous month, a press watchdog said.
The Centre for Press Freedom said it believed security forces were behind at least 20 of the attacks in Tunisia.
The watchdog was founded in March 2011, after long-time president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali fled into exile after a revolt against his rule dubbed "The Jasmine Revolution".
Ben Ali was president 1987 to 2011.
The country is now ruled by the Islamist Ennahda party following its electoral victory in October 2011.
