ICC Women's WC Pak team has no problems with stadium accommodation

Karachi , Thu, 31 Jan 2013 ANI

Karachi, Jan. 31 (ANI): Pakistan women team manager Ayesha Ashar has said the decision to accommodate her team at Cuttack's Barabati Stadium owing to threats from India's right-wing parties, is not disturbing, and is in fact, quite comfortable.

The decision to lodge the team at the stadium drew heavy criticism from several quarters, reports The Express Tribune.

The Orissa Cricket Association - which is playing host to group B matches at the Women's World Cup - were forced to arrange accommodations inside the stadium premises after five-star hotels showed reluctance following warnings against the Pakistan team's stay. However, all the other group teams are staying in hotels in Bhubaneswar.

Ashar insisted Pakistan had no issues over their stay inside stadium premises. She said they are feeling more comfortable, as the stadium has all the facilities. She said the girls are happy and relaxed. She added that the team has come to India to play, and that is their main focus.

Ashar also approved the security arrangements being made for her team's stay, saying they are content with it. She also said local officials have been very supportive. She added that they people are cordial. (ANI)
