Becks visits wounded soldiers and cancer patients at hospital in England

London, Thu, 17 Jan 2013 ANI

London, Jan. 17 (ANI): David Beckham and British actor Ray Winstone met injured troops during a private visit to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on Wednesday.

The duo cheered up wounded soldiers at the military ward for over an hour and a half.

During their trip they talked with servicemen about what they had been through and Beckham even posed for photographs at their bedside, the Mirror reported.

Shortly afterwards they had a meeting with staff from the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine - specialised in treatment for military personnel.

They also visited the Teenage Cancer Trust's Young Persons' Unit.

Both stars have long been popular with the army. Beckham had previously visited British soldiers in Helmand Province and had been shown around the UK's main base Camp Bastion. (ANI)
