Leak Army chief's letter raise questions: Congress

Congress has called the whole episode as sensitive matter in which army chief V.K.Singh letter to PM was leaked. Party has questioned the circumstance in which it leaked which has indication that there is a shortage of weapons and ammunition.

Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi has said that there is a lot of questions, which are to be answered that why and how this letter leaked and reached to media. Overall this matter is related to security of the country, he added.

It is noted that the army chief wrote to the prime minister stating India’s security might at risk as tanks were running out of ammunition, air defence was becoming obsolete and infantry lacked critical weapons.

It is noted that Gen V.K.Singh has also disclosed that he was offered a kickback of Rs. 14 crore by a retired defence officer, which created a storm in the media and trouble for defence minister. (With Inputs from IANS)
