Kathmandu, Dec.18 (ANI): Nepal President Ram Baran Yadav on Tuesday extended the deadline for forming a national unity government by another five days.
Tuesday's decision to extend the deadline by the president is the fifth such extension to the original November 29 deadline.
The earlier deadline expired on Monday, with no political party being able to agree to a consensus deal.
Top leaders of major parties met President Yadav today and recommended the extension of the deadline.
Nepal plunged into political and constitutional crisis after Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai dissolved the Constituent Assembly without promulgating the Constitution in May.
The political crisis further deepened after the elections announced by the Prime Minister could not be conducted on the stipulated date of November 22. (ANI)
