London, Dec. 18 (ANI): Golf star Ian Poulter has reportedly bought a limited edition Ferrari supercar, which cost him a staggering 650,000 pounds.
The Ryder Cup hero, 36, is known for his love of fast motors and has just added the 188mph Ferrari 288 GTO to his growing collection.
This particular Ferrari was the first of its type ever made and was the world's fastest car when it went on sale in the 1980s, The Sun reports.
According to the report, it gives it a 0-60mph time of less than five seconds, has a mid-mounted 2.9-litre V8 engine, which develops around 400bhp.
Car crazy Poulter snapped up the motor while in the UK for the Sports Personality of the Year awards, the paper said.
And after taking the 288 GTO for a spin the colourful sportsman tweeted how he was "very, very excited" about getting his hands on the "true Italian 1980s supercar", the paper added. (ANI)
